Happy Memeories Of 1964
A Memory of Ledbury.
My parents came from Nottingham to open a shop in The Gounce mum hated the change to live in then the relatively quiet Cornwall .Next to us was Burrells Stork café owned by Sid Burrell. our rented flat is still there next to the three shops the third of which we rented from him. We had the Palace cinema for entertainment, run I think by Mr Newman and for kids the SISSMS or something like that to keep the kids occupied on the beach. Opposite The Stork now Perranporth Surgery was Patersons Ice cream café.By the filling station we also had Burrells chalets As photos show The Promenade Café now Seiners has taken it,s place .We also had as I guess you will notice by the décor we had aBarclays local branch HAPPY DAYS INDEED !!!!!!
