Some History
A Memory of Llangoed.
Having some difficulty commenting/doing a memory of Llangoed. Wanted to use some specific photos shown, but have not had the option to add a memory to them. Maybe because I am the first to do one ?
Anyway, the photo of the Post Office. Despite being North Wales sub PO of the year earlier this century, as recently as 2012 or so, now sadly shut & a private residence.
Fryars Bay photo. If you walk North along the beach you pass both the old lifeboat station & you will notice some large buildings to the left, on the other side of the coast road, & the remains of a slipway. During WW11 Saunders-Roe moved their assembly of Catalina flying boats from the Isle of Wight to Angelsey for obvious reasons. I also found a picture of one of the four experimental Spitfires equipped with floats taxiing out on Fryars Bay.
