The grounds of Mote Park have been used as a public park for many years. The park covers some 558 acres and now includes a nature trail, model car racing track, pitch and putt and a children's playground as well a miniature railway in the summer.

I lived at Bearstead and i attended Vintners park boys school, I remember boating on the Medway my friends and i used to go to the granada theatre to see all the big stars of that era, spent many happy hours in moat park, a truly fantastic place to live such happy days, Alwyn Oldfield
I was born in Maidstone 19 Hardy Street. Went to St Paul's School. I started at Northborough School.The house was converted into flats.at the same time my mum had twins.so had to move out .And moved to Milton Street. From the age of seven Mote Park was almost our backyard.  We lived in Plains Avenue, just a few houses from the park keeper's lodge. We could also get to Mote Park by climbing over the fence at the bottom of our garden which led across allotments to Mote Park.
