A Memory of Menithwood.
I was around six when we moved from Bliss Gate to Menith Wood and left Menith Wood when I just turned fourteen. For the eight years to me Menith Wood was the best place in the world just a peaceful hidden clean beautiful village where all the village children played together and parents all knew each other, it was so safe that no one needed to lock doors and it was never any surprise for visitors to just tap the door and walk and say hello Velta ( My Mom ) I’ve just popped in for a cupa. Even after sixty years I still love to just walk through Menith Wood and reminisce of happy times and familiar faces gone by but never forgotten Nick, Frank,Tiniey Fumeroler, Jimmy Birch, Dash and Julian Watson, Cherry Martin, Michael Edwards, Janet and Francis Holt also Jacky Bradley and my neighbours the Morgan boys, These were the village children which I grew up with.
