I was born in Birmingham in 1943. My parents and my aunt and uncle (Les and Beat Bradshaw) purchased The Mentone in The Parks around 1949. I was evacuated to Timberscombe with my sister on 1st September 1939, I was 7 years old and was billeted at I think it was called "Sunnyside". The evacuees used to go to school for half a day while the locals went for the other half. I returned home to West Ham in London just before the Doodlebugs started.
holidays by the sea. loved the roll call early morning campers. whole group of us stayed there for my 40 birthday . we spent really good times old chalets now gone they would sleep average two people
