The Kennels Newnham Paddox

A Memory of Newnham Paddox.

My family moved from Monks Kirby to the Kennels near Morgans farm, Newnham Paddox in 1958/59 dad John, mum Marjorie sister Margaret, brother Sean and me Paul. We walked to St Josephs RC School, about 3 miles each way, My dad was a security man at Bitterswell aerodrome. We had a brown and white mongrel dog called Panda. He was always bringing chickens back from the local farm. We had no running water, it was from a pump at the bottom of the garden. No electricity. We had a spirit lamp and candles our entertainment was sitting around a battery radio listening to what ever was on. one Christmas my dad bought us old Bone- Shaker bikes which were painted in sky blue emulsion paint. The paint did not last long, We moved to Rugby in 1960 , Sean went to Dunsmore Grammer school.Margaret and myself went to Bishop Wulstan high school. Sean, myself and sister Eileen live in Huddersfield West Yorkshire. My brother brother David an artist lives near Halifax. Margaret lives in Hampshire. Younger sister Sarah lives in Northamptonshire. My youngest sister Marion lives in Barry South Wales. Lots have happened to all of us over the years But my memories of Monks Kirby are still very important to me.
