Sunny Holds Wonderful Times

A Memory of Perranporth.

My family lived in Perranporth from 1963 to 1967 when we moved to Goonhavern 3 miles away. There were six of us children and, in town or 3 miles away, we all looked forward to the CSSM coming during our school holidays. It was fun, it was free and offered the best gift in history, the love of Jesus Christ - once you had taken him into your heart.

I recall great nights in the sand dunes around a barbecue fire - half burned sausages on sticks and songs in a sandy auditorium - they must have heard us miles away. There were services on the beach, nights in the coffee bar at the youth club where we learned how to read and appreciate the scriptures. Best of all were the Treasure Hunts. The highlight and the finale of their time with us when we had to find all the members of the team, who were in disguise, I have some photos somewhere, I will have to dig them out.

We discovered CSSM on our first day in the town and our first trip to that famous three miles of beach, somebody was guiding us. Thank you to all of those who made our childhood very special indeed.
