65 Thorntree Gill Peterlee
A Memory of Peterlee.
Hi we also lived in Thorntree gill number 65 .Have many memories even though we only live there for a few years 51 to 54.Went to Horden school use to walk there .Remember looking out of the bedroom window watching dad(Dick Hutton )and his Mate (Charlie Darwin )fishing in a little boat.Coronation Day party held at the end of the street, all the school kids got a toothbrush and a coronation mug,I only got the tooth brush as although as was attending school from the age of 3 1/2 (4kids under the age 4 1/2 ) I didn't get the mug. They are beautiful houses ,I emigrated to Australia in 1976 in 1986 we moved into our new house and we had a street party ,sitting chatting to a neighbours father he asked where I came from ,Born in Durham lived at Peterlee, he asked me what street, when I told him he said I built those Houses ,he could tell me all the floor plans and said how extremely lucky we were to have lived in them which I am sure everyone who has lived there appreciates them. Went to Peterlee in 2003 and took a picture of the house . Regards Lesley Mitchell nee Hutton
