Childhood

A Memory of Poolsbrook.

I went to live in Huddersfield in 1964, having been in Poolsbrook fom being born in 1944. I went to school with Ann West, Mavis Bannister, Margo Frost and Barbara Budworth. We had happy times. Doing all the things that girls do.
I would like to be able to contact them, but don't have their married names !!

WHY WAS POOLSBROOK CALLED SPIKE.

I don't know. The name was in place all my life. It was meant to be a derogatory name implying Poolsbrook was rough ! So I never used the name and always said Poolsbrook !
