More about this scene

High on the 600ft cliff and looking towards Robin Hood's Bay is the Raven Hall Hotel, once the site of a Roman signal station. In 1900 plans were unveiled to create a new holiday resort at Ravenscar. Sad to say, investors were unimpressed, and only the road layout and a hotel block and shops were built. In 1912 the charms of the coast were captured in films made by the Robin Hood Film Co from Bradford. The actors stayed at Peak Farm and Corby House during their twelve weeks of summer shooting on location. All the film stock was stored in the stables at the hotel. Unfortunately, they were destroyed in a fire before the films, 'The Dangerous Edge' and 'Smugglers Cave', could be publicly shown, although before the disaster the actors did see a preview at the Londesborough Cinema in Scarborough.

Sparked a Memory for you?

If this has sparked a memory, why not share it here?

I stayed in one of these coaches when I was four years old back in 1958
Someone told me that there was a bus back from town about 10:30 at night back in the 60s. Is this true?
