Joining North Street with Mawney Road, Como Street had to cross the River Rom at the North Street end. Over the years the river has been something of a problem to this part of the town and the whole area was regularly flooded. This picture was taken from the Brooklands Road, Olive Street junction.

This is the street where I lived with my parents, Bert and Muriel Palmer. We lived in number 63. Mawney Road School was over the back of our garden.
