When I Joined The Royal Air Force 22nd May 1952

A Memory of Rossett.

I attended the Presbyterian Church Rossett Primary School in Station Road before attending the new school near Tom Bishop's shop, where I first bought my first cigarettes, Willy Woodbines, 5 for a shilling. I remember the fish and chips near the butcher, the Butchers Arms. Drink at the Alan Hotel in Station Road. Chandles the grocery and bread in Station Road. Ann the daughter.
Lived in Burton Road, "Anfield", next to field where the big dip was.
My father Jack Griffiths was on the council and Wrexham Rural Districit council. MAYOR Les Ankers, John Taylor used go to the Alan Hotel every Friday & Saturday evenings.
That's just some of my memories.
Now in Victoria, Australia since 1966. Married 2 children 3 grandkids. Well retired.
Best wishes to those who remember me. Can email me if they like, would love to hear from anyone. Rev. James was Minister of Presbyterian Church.
Mr Fred Witt. Head Master of the school, with Harry Costain.
Bye for now,
Regards
John
