The Antonine Wall is being put forward as a World Heritage site, in collaboration with Germany, Austria and Hungary to mark the European boundary of the Roman Empire.
EAST-WEST thoroughfare in Bearsden, one of Glasgow's northern suburbs, is named Roman Road, for it follows the line of a roadway constructed by the Romans in AD 142 along the south side of the Antonine Wall
Historically, these thatched cottages were in Chawton, but they became part of Alton in the early 1930s.
