Seaton Carew
I lived in Seaton Carew from about 1944 to 1947. My parents ran a boarding house at 4 The Cliffe, (my sister was born there) adjacent to the Staincliffe, which as I recall (I was a 4 year old) was occupied by RAF personnel. I recall the bad winter of 1946, and the tremendous amount of snowfall. My first schooldays (kindergarten?) were at Seaton Carew. We used to go hunting for crabs on Blackhall rocks when the tide was out.
Still have some old family photos taken on the beach.

RE: RE: Seaton Carew
My grandfather was stationed at Seaton Carew in November 1914. I have a postcard he sent of the Golf House where he says they slept on the nights they were off duty. It is the same one as shown in your photo of the Golf Links 1914. Does it still exist? Does anyone know anything about the army activity here at that time?

RE: RE: Seaton Carew
I was born in West Hartlepool in 1945 and lived in Seaton Carew for the first 2 years of my life.
My Great Aunt Gladys Hodgson lived in Hartlepool from 1899 until passing away at the age of 107 in Februaary 2006; she was the oldest resident of the town at that time.
My Mother, Joan Flower (nee Risdale) was born in 1919 and is currently living at a nursing home in Surrey. She met and married my Father Sam Flower from London during the 2nd World War.
My Grandmother was manager of The Marine Hotel.
I am very interested in any memories that people have of my family
