Growing Up In Seaton Sluice In The 1960s
I moved from Blyth to Seaton Sluice into a newly built house in Cresswell Avenue in 1957. Life as a child in the village was exciting; most days we would either play on the beach and harbour or the new building development behind Parkfield in Easedale. Seaton Sluice Harbour Houseboat
I was born in Newsham in 1949 and lived in The Oval till I joined the RAF In 1967. My father Edward used to take me to Seaton Sluice to visit family when a youngster aged about 6 yrs old. He pointed out to me that the old houseboat in the harbour shown in the photo taken in 1955 was where he was born and lived as a youngster himself. My Early Years

I was born at South Newshamin 1934 and went to the local school, then on to New Delaval. Then we moved to the Newsham Road area and I then went to P. L. Rd. South Newsham was a great place to grow up in. My name was then Stafford.

Seaton Sluice Billy Mill
My grandfather John Johnson was born around 1900 and lived all his early life around Billy Mill and Seaton Sluice. He told me that as a boy of about eleven he spent two weeks' holiday with his friend, the lighthouse keeper's son, on nearby St Mary's island and that they were able to explore part of an ancient underground tunnel leading from the island to Seaton Delaval Hall. Family Tree Hunting
i visited seaton sluice in feb 2007 to track where my father was born,silverhills,hartley.i managed to find the address he was registered at in 1901 census,but can anyone tell me anything about silverhills,or his family,his name was redvers wilson,born on 14 th may 1900,he had one sister that i met,called nancy,but am sure there were others.

The Old Wood Buildings That Were The Chip Shop And Butchers
Having grown up in Seaton Sluice I can remember the old wooden buildings that were the chip shop and the one next to it being the butchers. I can also remember them being pulled down and the present ones being built.
