Park Ave, Southall Middx

A Memory of Southall.

Hi,
I am new to this group, and really excited to be part of this memory. I lived in 49 Park Ave, Southall Middx and went to Featherstone, Infant School, followed by Primary then High School. Graduated in 1979. My head master was Mr. Burg at the time, he was a great Head Master. There was also Mr. & Mrs. Hughes. Mr. Hughes was my English Teacher. I am trying to think of the name of my PE Teacher at the time, she used to make us run in really cold conditions and we would be wearing shorts.
I no longer live in the UK but have great memories of my childhood, going to School, playing in our street and in Southall Park, playing tennis, it used to be a lovely park, there was a grass curling area. I remember going to Southall Market every Saturday with my Mom to buy groceries, oh and the Friday market, people used to sell furniture. Southall was much different back then has changed allot, cannot recognize the place. I am in touch with my neighbors who still live there, we exchange Christmas Cards etc. I have a sibling who lives on Orchard Ave so when we vacation to the UK, we stay with my sibling and reminisce.
I worked in Walls Sausage Factory which was a walk over the foot bridge over Southall Railway and United Biscuits in my summer holidays in Brentford. Those were the days. Did anybody live in Park Ave and go to Featherstone High School and graduate in 1979, would love to hear from you.
