More about this scene
The sunshine picks out the white walls of rock chalk of this fine Edwardian house designed by Sir Edwin Lutyens with planting and landscaping by Gerturde Jekyll. Built as a private house in 1904, it was a private school for many years and reverted to country house use in the 1980s. An amazing table was cut in the virgin chalk and finished on top as the billiard table above the sunken floor.
