Fred's :)

A Memory of Stoke Hammond.

I spent many summers in Stoke Hammond visiting the Davis family in Tyrells Road, my father's uncle, aunt and cousin, from the early/mid sixties onwards through the passing of his parents Jack and Betty untill the death of Alistair a few years ago. My dad's cousin, but a major influence on my and my own family's lives.
My greatest memory of the shop was Fred's friendliness and how he welcomed the invading Scottish family who appeared pretty regularly, that and he sold the finest smoked ham I have ever tasted :)
Special memories for me and I know the village holds a special place in my daughter and son's hearts as they loved visiting Al.
