More about this scene

The roughly rectangular Market Place (or village green) with its medieval cross is surrounded by attractive houses with shops on the east side. To the south, across the Sleaford to Skegness Road, an alley leads to Lord Cromwell's College just beyond the road frontage buildings; it is another 15th-century brick building, known as the Old College to distinguish it from the excavated remains of that near the church.

A Selection of Memories from Tattershall

For many years now, we've been inviting visitors to our website to add their own memories to share their experiences of life as it was, prompted by the photographs in our archive. Here are some from Tattershall

Sparked a Memory for you?

If this has sparked a memory, why not share it here?

I was told by my mother that my grandparents moved to Tattershall in 1912 from Buckinghamshire so my grandfather could find work helping to restore the castle he was a carpenter. His name was William Bywater, known as Roger, they lived in the village for many years.
