Riding My Horse

A Memory of Torrance.

This was one of the routes I took in the early 70s when riding my beautiful horse out. We would go up West Balgrochan Road, turn in to Acre Valley Road and go up the hill where the woods are and down to the other side, sometimes going on the narrow bridle path past Ferrymill. It was a lovely scenic ride!

My family lived in the house opposite Acre Valley Rd up until we moved to Australia in 1963. Spent many a day playing on the Drum Hill behind Clochary. I was born in a house on School Rd in 1950 attended Torrance primary as did my sister and brothers and my father. Moved to Campsie Rd when I was 4 and after a few years moved to my Grandfathers house "Glencryon" opposite Acre Valley Rd. Played hide n seek behind that brick wall many times, got stung by wasps nesting in the grass bank opposite.
