Born In Upper Boat 1943

A Memory of Upper Boat.

Ken Beard speaking. My parents were evacuated to South Wales from Bermondsey London during the 2nd. war. I wish I had some dates, as there is no one alive to ask. We lived at 63 Crwys Crescent where I was born in 1943.I'm not shore how many years we lived there before we moved back to London, another date I wish I had.
I was travelling in the area about two weeks ago and thought I would see if any of my birthplace existed. All I could find was a public house called Upper Boat by the side off a industrial site that Tom Tom was telling me was Upper Boat. Sad to find.

I was raised at number 70 born in april1946 and we left in 1953 to move to Harlow. My father worked in standard telephones and cables which moved to Harlow in 1953. Does anyone have any pictures of the prefabs?
I am Tony Fordham I was born and lived at 72 Crystal Crescent with my Mother and Father and sister Irene and brother Eric from my birth in 1944 until 1956 when we moved to Leeds. I went to school at Hawthorn.
I am looking for any information and pictures about the time I lived there.
I also remember Uncle Jack and used to visit him at his house which has been said by someone else on this site had no electricity. He was a great and interesting man.
Look forward to hearing from anybody who lived at Crwys Crescent around the time I lived there.
Regards Tony
My sister, Annette, was born at Upper Boat on March 2nd, 1943. Because of a snow storm the lady
doctor was stuck in snow down on the main road and my father had to carry her on his back to the
prefab and a neighbour carried her bag.
Hi. I was born in 1944 and lived at 21 Islywyn Road. I do have a couple of photos of the pre-fabs plus a snow scene of the road from the main Ponty/Cardiff over the old railway bridge to the pre-fabs. If anyone wants an email'd copy please reply here.
