In the late fifties we used to live in the old Rectory at the bottom of the hill - the photos looking uphill are taken from outside the garden wall. I guess the house has gone now. I believe one of the Liddell family ( of Alice in Wonderland fame) was rector here at one time, Charles Dodgson ( Lewis Carroll) apparently was a visitor. There was an autograph by one of the Liddells scratched into one of the upstairs windows, but I don't suppose it was preserved?
looking at the picture my house isnt even built its weird to see how much it has changed over the years... i live next door to the church- where it looks like their is just land!
