Mom Lived in Baynards...1930-40's
Mom went to the country to live during the war. She lived in a big field - the house and land were let by the Fulton Brick Works, I believe that was the name. I have about 5 pictures of her home with my Auntie Connie.
Childhood Years
Many hours were spent playing on the hills around this area. In the centre of the picture is a mound, we called it the Tump, it was the excavation from the cutting and it was made into a feature with three seats or benches for walkers to enjoy a rest and admire the views over Herefordshire.
The Lee Family
My grandmother Elsie Thomas married Harold Victor Lee in 1929. Sadly he died 3 months later. They were living at 2 Albion Villas, Lower Wyche. He was a Dept Manager at a Clothing Shop. His father was a grocer - William Edward Lee. Until recently we didnt know anything about this marriage. If anyone knows the Lee family, if they are still in the area or knows where Albion Villas is could they please get in touch many thanks
Information Wanted on Rose Cottage Malvern
I am looking to find information on Rose Cottage, my father in law's family lived here in and around the 1930s, not sure what date from or to. I am looking for old photographs of this house and any information relating to it. I would be extremely grateful, as it would help with information for family tree.
Information Wanted on Edith Cottage, Edith Walk 1933 Great Malvern
Would anybody be able to help me? I am looking to find old photographs of an Edith Cottage that apparently was on Edith Walk in Great Malvern. I am looking for photos on or around 1933, as my partner's father lived in this cottage (he orginally gave me the information as being Rose Cottage, but this was incorrect). If anybody has any photos, or knows of any books containing any photos of this cottage, the road it was on or of this area, please let me know, I will be extremely grateful.
STANHOPE COTTAGE LICENSED HOUSE EDITH WALK
I am looking for any information or photos of Stanhope Cottage, Edith Walk, Malvern. This cottage was a Licensed House and my Great Grandfather was the Publican. He lived there with his family in 1911. I would be very grateful for any information or photos relating to this Cottage. All information will help with creating my Family Tree. Many Thanks.
Chldrens Home in Hanley Swan
My husband Ronald Jones was in the childrens home The Home of the Good Shepherd in Hanley Swan from approx. 1938 to 1944. He was twelve when he left. He has many happy memories & some sad, of his time there. He particularly remembers the American soldiers stationed nearby & their kindness to the Home boys. He has fond memories of the Master & Matron Mr & Mrs Carr, also Brooksie who worked there. He has lovely memories of Miss Pitt the choir mistress, & his time in the Church choir. Also when he sang in Worcester Cathedral. If there is anybody with any recollections of the Home, or know of anyone who was in the Home at that time, it would be great to share memories!
