I Was Married Here

St Michael's Church c1960
Enlarge photo |  More about this photo

I was married there in 1964, long before it was swamped by the town centre. My daughter was christened there. I then went to work at Van Moppes, can anyone remember it? I was living at Viables Farm, a working farm then, I believe it's a craft centre now. They were good days.

RE: RE: I Was Married Here

I can remember Van Moppes - my neighbours worked there. I'm part of the Commumity Association based in the Viables Craft Centre. Our halls were once the Barn and bullpens. I don't suppose you've got any memories/photos to share of the farm?

RE: RE: I Was Married Here

Hello Madelaine, My grandma Mary Orton was canteen manageress at Van Mopees certainly in 1969 but for how long I do not know. When I was a child we used to live opposite Bob and Muriel Hussey in Pendennis Close, Winklebury. Small world! Regards Mark.
