ECCLES FAMILY HISTORY
My great-grandfather, Joseph Eccles, built Bilsborrow Hall. He owned a number of cotton mills in Preston and played cricket for Lancashire. I have just started to look into our family history and will hopefully be able to post more comments later. Thank you for your memory Best wishes Peter Eccles

RE: RE: ECCLES FAMILY HISTORY
My parents bought Bilsborough Hall from the Eccles family in the 1940s. We lived there for well over twenty years, and the little dog in the picture was a heeler, called Pippin, he was a little horror and use to chase cars up the drive and frighten everyone to death. They were very happy childhood days. My father received a knighthood while we were living there and my mother organised charity events (as was her forte), with many do's being held at the Hall over the years.
