Hall Green Street

A Memory of Bilston.

My Grandfather grew up in Hall Green street next to his Aunt, Uncle and 2 cousins, who later ran a grocery shop together down there. Irene and Olive Eliza Roberts, 49 & 50 Hall Green Street. Does anyone have any memories of them or their shop? Also does anyone have any memories of going to Sunday school at Bradley Methodist Church, down the road? My grandad said he won a book in Sunday so, and I am guessing it was this one. It is across the road from an old pub called the Britannia. My grandad became a nurse, and travelled down to work in London during the 2nd World War. I am very interested if anyone has any memories. Thanks

Yes,I knew them well.
Oh wow. It would be lovely to hear some memories, if that's ok? Also did you know my grandfather, Samuel James Gillard before he moved? (Son of James and Eliza. Also had a younger sister called Mavis) He sadly passed when I was little, and very few memories + no photos have been kept by the family. Kind regards
Sorry I got mixed up with names, I meant son of William and Tabitha.
During self isolation have been doing some much needed drawer tidying.I found an Easter card from Auntie Irene and a letter of condolence from Olive and Irene on the death of my father. If you can make me a Facebook friend I can send you a photo of them.
Thank you Clare, that is very kind of you. Could you send me a link to your Facebook? I had a look, but I'm not sure which is you. I can send you my link through a message if that is better.
lived in 52 Hallgreen Street for about 20 years from about 1968 and remember Olive and Irene very well. I used to buy my sweets from their lovely little shop. I went to Sunday School at the Wesleyan Methodist church across the road from my house and the Brittania Inn. My mum used to meet Olive in Wolverhampton after she had finished her shopping and give her a lift back home.
