Bordon County Junior School Budds Lane

A Memory of Bordon.

Teachers in the 1970s
Mr Pearson - an elderly man whose dentures moved around in his mouth when he spoke. He was great fun and shared his family cinefilms with us during the lessons. It was great fun when he played them backwards.

Miss Davies(later Mrs Paskell). I think she married a soldier as she moved away to Shipton Bellinger. She had 1960s/70s hairstyle - blonde hair with back combing and she was a lovely teacher.

Miss Rainer - taught recorder. It’s where I learned about crotchets and quavers and reached the heights of learning how to play Three Blind Mice and London’s Burning.

Mrs Langridge - we had classes quizzes and it was where I learned that a Black Mariah was a police van and not a panther-like cat- I got that answer wrong! We also had craft sessions in her class and I remember making a very trendy suede belt with long tassels.

Mrs Bovington- she was the wife of Mr Bovington who worked at Mill Chase School.

Mr Woodward was the headteacher - he loved Cricket and classical music. We always entered the hall with him either playing the grand piano in the hall or listening to music from the classical composer of the week
