Work In Crossways

A Memory of Bracknell.

I had a Saturday job at the top end of this picture at a hardware shop Miller Morris and Brooker. Across from them was toy shop and a mens fashion shop. I think next door to MMB was a cafe.

Dear Francis Frith,

A friend sent me this . I am the Brooker of MMB who used to visit the shop irregularly in the lat 60's and 70's. I remember Keith Cox was the Manager. We sold up to a larger Builders Merchant in 1977 and I now live in Kennington. Do you also remember another Saturday school helper called Thurston Inglis, who painted a picture for me which I still have. I think he still lives in Bracknell and would like to get in touch with him if possible.
Hope you thrive!

Chris
when I was there, the manager was Len Bowyer and the guy before me was Melvin something or other? I do not know whom came after me but recall a guy at Wick Hill called Thurston. Was there 61 to 63/4 ish Saturdays, holidays and stocktaking in the evenings. Left when I got a full time job after leaving school. Happy days
