Hillside Av
A Memory of Runcorn.
I think this picture is of hillside avenue, I lived at number five with my mum and dad Mr & Mrs Wood.
The memories of years passed still make me smile of the fun we had on little hill and big hill as it was called then.
Catching rabbits on the hill, making fires in happy valley and cooking them with spuds that we had dug from the farmers fields ( I think was Toffs R Gregory's).
Scratching are names and date's into the sandstone on frogs mouth.
Lighting up the air raid tunnel that was at the top of Hillside Av and came out in happy valley.
R grandchildren would love to have a look in there.
Saturday morning at the baths, call for a bag of broken biscuits from the old market, walking home along the canal tucking in to see if there was a chocolate one.
Russell road shops for Saturday's sweets before the cowboy film came on TV.
