Many Years Ago

My grandfather Kennedy Larbey and his family came and lived in Southwick in 1896 where he was a blacksmith. My grandmother sold fresh fish at her kitchen door. My father Victor was born there in 1897 and done most of his schooling there untill they came back to Fernhurst in 1910.

Many Years Ago

When I was about 5 or so, I ended up here by ambulance suffering from double pneumonia. I gave my watch to the boy in the bed next to mine because I thought he was in a worse shape than me! Nice to see the fresh air doors in the end patio section again after all these years.

I lived in Broomfield Road from l947 until I got married in l976 in this church. I also remember going to West Byfleet primary school and being in Mrs Crabbe's class with Miss Hey as headmistress. When in my early teens, I worked on Bentley's farm in the evenings with Marilyn Bailey.
