SLOUGH HIGH STREET - PARK STREET & CHANDOS ROAD
Hi, I am researching my family tree and am trying to locate Chandos Road and Unity Cottages in Park Street. I believe that Chandos Road was knocked down when the Queensmere Centre was built. I wondered if anyone knew which two roads leading on to the High Street are shown in this picture - I'm hoping they may be the two roads I am looking for - I understand they were nearly opposite each other on the High Street. In the 1911 census, my Grandfather lived at 42 Chandos Road and my Grandmother lived in 4 Unity Cottages, Park Street. I'm also keen to locate Nash's Cottages in Wexham Road (Nan was born there in 1903). My email address is jan.saunders1@virgin.net, if anyone can help I would be very grateful. Thank you, Jan.

Dear Jan, the road to the left of the High Street is Windsor Road, and the one opposite is William Street. Stopped every day here to to to Slough Tech in William Street, until it was demolished. Can't help you any more. Sorry.

You need to come back down the High Street about 400 yards, Park Street is on the same side as Windsor Road and Chandos Road is on the right side, the same as Willam. Hope you can make sense of this.

Hi both, Thanks very much, I managed to find an old map of Slough (via Francis Frith themselves) - and we then visited Slough, but sadly it seems that the houses my grandparents lived in have both been demolished! As with most people, I wish I'd started my family tree research many years ago! Thanks again for your help. Cheers, Jan.
