Early Years In Tadourne Road
A Memory of Tadworth.
We lived in Tadourne Rd,our house was called Hova,I'm not sure what the number was.We were there until about 1965,I was born in Ewell in 1957.
My father was Eddie Cracknell,a jockey who was quite successful in the UK for many years. He was an Aussie who came over to race, met my mother,a dancer in the West End...very glam.
I have many memories of Tadworth growing up! Lovely friends who lived on the corner of Shelvers Way and Tadourne Rd...Brita(Swedish) and Tony...
I can remember wanting a Beatles guitar that was being sold in the newsagents on Shelvers Way and going to a Dentist there too.
There was a butchers shop I think as there was a canvas flap thing that we used to run at and I clearly remember a big tobacco enamel advert in a little alley where my mum used to park.
Sorry,I'm being boring but it was a lovely time of my life..I saw my first hippy covered in flower power paint in the Cross St shops...amazing!
LOVE TADWORTH!!!!!
