More about this scene

What a picturesque village – today you must purchase a ticket to enjoy a visit here. A foal enjoys a well-earned rest, watched by two doting parents. The single street leads down to the river. An Austin A30 is parked beside an Armstrong Siddeley. Originally these 18th-century red brick cottages were for estate workers. The fifth cottage down from the start of the terrace, No 84, is a chapel, and No 74 is now the village shop. The last house in the terrace was the master shipbuilder's house, now a pub. On the opposite side of the cottages is another almost identical row. Two and a half miles up the river is Beaulieu; boat trips are available, and upstream is a marina.
