More about this scene

The Gate, as locals call it, is at Woodgate, by a crossroads in a pleasant rural location between Hanbury and Bromsgrove. The origin of its unusual name is obscure. There is a pub of the same name in Redditch situated on a former turnpike road, and it is believed to have taken its name from the turnpike gate, but that is unlikely to be the case here.
