Memories of Little Baddow
I think this is Riffhams Chase not Graces Walk. This photo is taken coming from Danbury heading towards Little Baddow. In the distance ahead, the road bends to the right to go up the hill, with the National Trust car park for Blakes Wood on your left followed by Old riffhams with it's painted in windows.
I was born in Little Baddow and was familiar with the story of Alice Mildmay and Jesse Berridge's book. The year is approximate as I was in my teens, so it was somewhere between 1972 and 1974. I had a horse called Shamrock, that I kept in Sandon and I used to ride him through Danbury and Little Baddow all the time.
