More about this scene
This busy conduit linking St John's and High Street affords a perfect view of the tower. The old corner house (right) is occupied by Hope Brothers General Outfitters whilst opposite, as for many years, stands Oliver's Shoes. Welsh Sports Ltd began its long tenure in the street during this period. Those seeking other recreational pursuits could choose either the Old Dolphin or Old Arcade hostelries.
