Bebington cum Bromborough became a civil parish in 1922 when Bromborough, Higher Bebington and Lower Bebington were united.
For all its evocative name, Higher Bebington Road is quite short in length; it services Bebington High Sports College, the Higher Bebington recreation ground and the local branch of Wirral

It has been said of Bebington that 'though the town centre is lacking in character, it is also open, green and wholesome', and that description still works well now.
