Inside this church is the tomb of a well-known local man, Francis Baily.
In the melee, the nearest boat to the camera appears to be flying the Stars and Stripes of the USA, which might not be a common sight on England's premier river in those days.
Sheldon House, second on the right, was the home of the Bailys, a leading clothier family.
William Salmon, 1826, is remembered by a Grecian youth standing by a column, by Baily.
The Rothwell Industrial Co-operative Society on the right has become the Co-op supermarket, and the Blue Bell is now simply called The Pub.
A pub built next door - The Bell - is now derelict.
