More about this scene
This picture is wonderfully typical of Brecon. It shows the River Llynfell emerging at the base of the cave. In 1912 Tommy and Jeff Morgan explored the caves by coracle and candlelight; they crossed not one underground lake but four, with huge chambers of stalagmites and stalactites. In all they found 10 miles of underground wonderland.
