More about this scene

Looking from within the abbey gateway, this view again shows the Town Hall, its up-to-the-minute Baroque grandeur and monumentality combined with the slightly old-fashioned stair tower with its almost Jacobean pinnacles and plain elevations (left). The main part of the Town Hall is superbly proportioned. Giant Corinthian order pilasters support the cornice; above it is a leaded top storey with dormers and a cupola. The lead flat roof has a balustrade, and gives fine views over the town.

1940's History
I am trying to obtain information regarding a mid- air collision over Bracknell Berkshire in the 1940’s. Believed to be 1943 but could a few years away from that date. It is believed to be between a Hurricane and a Spitfire but there is also no confirmation of that. A Little Canadian Girl In Putney In The 50's .

My Dad was in the Canadian army and was posted to London when I was 7 years old . We lived in the top flat at 27 Chartfield Avenue . What a magical place ! The back yard was huge, with apple, pear and cherry trees to climb and a massive grassy area to run . We were an international neighbourhood. Queen's Manor Primary School, Fulham
I remember the school trip to the Isle of Wight May 19th to June 2nd 1961. I still have my notes and scarp book. I had a really great time and went back 2 years ago to have another look. The isle of Wight still lovely. I met up in 1973 with either Pat or Linda Long who worked in the child care at Charing Cross & Fulham Hospital when my father was there.

Despite over 20 years’ work on the archive, these scans have still not been individually checked and may prove to be damaged, faded, or not of sufficient quality to ever be offered in our full product range. However, if you would particularly like to buy one of these please get in touch quoting the Frith negative number,(s) the town name and size of print you would like to buy. On receipt of your enquiry our archivist will check the scan and advise you if the quality is good enough.

What is an Album?

An album is a way to save a selection of Frith photos, maps and memories that are of interest to you.

Creating an Album enables you to make short lists and then make a final selection from the album. In particular it makes ordering things like calendars much easier - simply create an Album of the 12 photos you like and then use the Album when placng your order - our order process will give you this option.

You can create as many Albums as you want, so perhaps make one for your hometown, where you live now, where your parents live now etc.
