More about this scene

St Mary's Church was originally built in three stages between the 13th and the 15th centuries. Substantial restoration work was undertaken during the Victorian era. There are some interesting friezes over both the south and north porches. Outside the east window are the arms of William of Wykeham, founder of Oxford's New College.

Other Memories from Adderbury

My family lived in The Lodge (house on far right of picture) for about 47 years. The Lodge is the gatehouse to the mansion called Adderbury House which became a home for elderly after the 2nd World War. The two pubs you can see are The Red Lion (still exists) and The Wheatsheaf which is now a house.
