Black Faces

I was born in Addlestone in what was Kingthorpe nursing home in 1944 (no nhs then)my father worked for Vickers Armstrong at Byfleet. My father was born in Cailard road Byfleet the same road as my mother was born. He is now 96 years old and went to school at St.Mary's school Byfleet. Days Of Joy

good days in Addlestone and the fair. Millpond fishing. but the best days was addlestone swimming club run by the Smiths great days.

British Railways

I was a plate layer on the railway lines from Chertsey through Addlestone to Waybridge in the late 60s . Roy Spearman .

I Was A Boy Of 11 Walking From The Station To A Choir School Nearby

In 1953 I attended, as a boarder, the 'St Mary of the Angels Choir School' in Addlestone. You walked from the station, turned right up the High St and then left up a hill(?). The school was down a long leafy drive. After I left in 1953, the school was burned down and transferred to Beaconsfield. Does anyone remember this fire at the school and what caused ...see more

16 Prairie Road

My great Uncle Gilbert Gosden is shown as previously living at 16 Prairie Road according to the passenger list of the Balarand on 14.02.1936. He was emigrating to Australia that day.

Living In Collingbourne, High St, Addlestone

My family lived in Collingbourne, High St, Addlestone and my youngest sister, Janet was b orn there, in 1943. Michael, Jean & Charles (sadly all deceased) myself, Kathleen, Ann & Janet lived there until 1952. Does anyone remember us or have any history of the house?

St. Paul`s Church Choir

Have lived in Addlestone for 46 years teaching in the old St. Paul`s Junior and the newer Middle School. St. Paul`s Church celebrates 175 years this year and as a member of the church choir for over 35 years I am researching the history of the choirs at St. Paul`s and St. Augustines Churches. Woburn Park Hotel 1970s

My mum worked there when I was a kid, on sick days or school holidays I would, with my younger brother, go to work with mum. We would catch the train from Chertsey or walk if we did not have enough money. It was a big spooky Hotel... if memory serves me right!
