More about this scene
F Beale & Sons were builders until they were bought out in the 1960s. Their yard was in Adelaide Road, beside the swimming baths that they built in 1885. This could wll be Frank Beale himself in front of their shop displaying carpets and wallpapers. The Temperance Hall of 1868 was next door, and across the road was the Forester's Arms, once a Heath family property, which still stands today.
