High Street c1955. Ardingly, pronounced Arding-lie, is situated to the north of Haywards Heath and is famous in Sussex as the setting for Ardingly College. It is also the home of Wakehurst Place, which is administered and maintained by the Royal Botanic Gardens. The garden is often described as one of the most beautiful in England. This photograph shows the village Post Office and an old red telephone box.
