More about this scene
One of the finest churches in Cheshire, St Mary's has a lovely setting overlooking the village green. This picture gives some indication of its style, with its tower and spire almost totally separated from the main body of the church. The interior is superb, despite damage done by Roundhead soldiers who stabled their horses here during the time of the Civil War.
