My family moved to Aveley in January 1967, when I was three weeks old. We lived in Manor Close, where in fact my older brother still lives. I was born in Aveley in 1933, in the local police station, opposite the Ordance Arms. I attended the local schools (infants, junior and bushy bit). I lived in one of the cottages directly opposite these shops in the 50's. No 33 Kennington Cottages. My youngest brother and sister were born here. I have so many fond memories. I remember the school well, I was there from 1966 - 1970. I remember all the Merediths, Miss Close, Miss Norman, Paddy Rice, Mr Mumford and Mr Johnson the head master.
