Axmouth, Harbour Entrance c.1955

More about this scene
Axmouth's harbour, a mile from the heart of the village, is as picturesque as when the Frith photographers took this series of photographs. The long stretch of the River Axe between Axmouth and Colyford is an excellent habitat for wildfowl, and birdwatchers often line the riverbank in the early months of the year. Across the river is the sprawling town of Seaton.
