Aylesbury, Market Square c.1965

More about this scene
Ten years after photograph No A84005, the Market Square is even more choked by cars. Beyond the scooter and bubble car which so strongly evoke the 1960s, the theatre has become the Embassy Grill. Pettit's Stores on the right is now the Grapes and a barber's shop. This view captures the Market Square just before the wholesale redevelopment of Aylesbury got under way, destroying many of the buildings fronting the market place.
