As you look at this picture, the hedgerow and trees on the right hid an old spring water bottling plant. It was all very basic. We discovered it one day on a trip to One Tree Hill. In the late 1950’s and as a young boy around 8 or 9 living in the west end of Newcastle, I used to visit my Auntie Bella and Uncle Ted regularly. They lived at Number 3 Picktree Cottages, a short row of picturesque cottages now demolished and replaced with the bungalows on Picktree Lane situated almost opposite the entrance to the present Ash Meadows.
