More about this scene
In the 1930s, the Knap Hotel was owned and run by Mrs R Luen. The Luen family also ran the tea rooms at Watchtower Bay and the Watchtower tea rooms in the adjacent plot, which by the 50s was known by all as Luen's Cafe. In the 50s the Knap Hotel was owned by Mrs Dotchon, and was RAC and AA approved. It has now been demolished, and Sea Point flats stand on the site.
